I just pulled a Bacrot, putting my queen en prise in my third round T4545 game. I really thought I'd left those kinds of blunders behind me, but I guess not.

It must be that kind of weekend! I just did the same thing. I had fought rather well in the endgame and had turned a lost position into a possible draw and BOOM, I left my queen way open. Maybe it was a good to watch a movie instead!
polly - let's make a pact, we will not allow this to become a habit :) I haven't hung a piece, much less my queen, in a serious game in a long time, so this was a little shocking to be honest.
I finally looked at your game. You're better than that. But you were playing rather aimlessly to begin with, he must have thrown you off a little with that ugly move 2.Nc3...

Yikes! It's like a curse. Everyone who watches that Bacrot movie hangs their queen. I hope I'm not next.
tommyg: yeah watching a movie sure would've resulted in less frustration :) welcome to the chess blogosphere!
likesforests: lol... it's like one of those bad horror flicks. You watch the Bacrot video, and next thing you know you're cursed!
I've been doing that far too often as of late. A very bad habit to fall into.

Thanks Kevin. Yeah, I really didn't have much of a plan to start with after that stupid 2.Nc3, I can't remember the last time I faced that...
